Rules & Principles
HireDev operates on open, transparent market mechanics. Here are the 9 rules governing how ranking, bidding, and visibility work.
Your bid is your position
The leaderboard is sorted strictly by total bid amount. No opaque algorithms, no paid sponsored placements disguised as organic listings.
You don't need #1 to get hired
Bid whatever fits your budget. If your bid is lower than #1, you claim the exact position that bid commands (#2, #5, #12). Every paid bid secures a spot.
Tie-breakers go to the earliest bidder
Matching an existing developer’s exact bid does not leapfrog them. When two developers share the same bid, the earlier payment holds rank. To pass someone, bid at least $1 more.
Outbidding costs only the difference
Submit your existing profile URL with a higher amount and you are only charged the price difference — not the full cost. Minimum raise is $1.
Ranks are permanent until outbid
No recurring monthly subscriptions or hidden time limits. Your listing stays on the leaderboard as long as nobody outbids your spot.
One listing per developer URL
Each entry is keyed to your unique profile/portfolio URL, preventing duplicate spam cards. Submitting again boosts your existing card position.
Instant placement & final sales
Because bids immediately shift the live public leaderboard and grant real-time recruiter exposure, all confirmed bids are final and non-refundable.
Zero tolerance moderation
Fake profiles, malware, deceptive claims, and impersonation are permanently banned. Clean legitimate developers move up automatically.
100% verified click & view metrics
Every profile click is counted atomically without artificial bots or inflated metrics. True transparent hiring interest for every engineer.
